floating (loading into a horse trailer) Health

can someone tell me I am currently re-training a horse that has had a bad experience with loading into a float.

After the third attempt today we finally got him on without any problems.
The first and second attempts were "there is no way I am going on that thing". Each time the horse took a step on he was rewarded with feed.

My question if anyone can help me is

how often should I torture this poor horse with loading problems. After the last time when he went on with out a fight I said ok now you can go to your paddock and have your tea.
Should it be every day or miss a day?

    Hi Kiwi62,
I had a friend who just parked the trailer in the pasture and started putting hay in it by the ramp. Slowly
she moved it further and further into the trailer until the horse had to step up into it to get to the hay. One day she went out to discover the horse standing in the trailer waiting to be fed. Mission acomplished, nobody got hurt. Rome wasn't built in a day.
    Good luck!
