... do you do other than riding?
Of course, I'm sure most people out there have difficulty finding the time away from the horses (not that it's a bad thing of course! :p ), but there has to be some people who by a miracle find the time!
I do historical (medieval) reinactment (not w/ horses). I mostly do costuming and cooking. Would like to try archery.
Reading, gardening, diy stuff around the house & farm (guess that's necessity as much as hobby, but I enjoy it.)
Running -although it tends to stiffen your joints....used to run for the Army - in my younger years! Now go to the gym 3-65 times a week - lucky it's in the buiding I manage - or run around the great countryside here in Hertfordshire, England.
I do dog agility and obedience when I manage to get time. I also love to garden. When you have to push a lawnmower over a large area it helps keep you fit. At least if helps when it comes to fencing repairs
Cycling and swimming, the other two of the best cardio vascular exercises, the other being riding, natch. I mean, what other occupation can both increase your heartbeat and give full body work out on the one hand, then calm the body mind and spirit on the other?
I always loved swimming, water and snow skiing...we were always encouraged to experience all sports...I never had much patience for sailing tho...I wonder why!!! I also took it upon myself to learn fencing...very demanding but terrific for balance!
Ballet - you're right, I could see it being very useful for helping you out in your riding. Maybe not my cup of tea to help me with my own riding though! People look at me funny enough when I leave to go riding in my breeches never mind a tutu! ;)
