Australian Male Riders - a theory. Romance

  • View author's info Posted on Aug 26, 2006 at 01:26 AM

I should perhaps apologise for all those guys who may read this first as they have shown some get up n go to get on here. (You will be a part of point four!!)

The theory on Aussie male riders:
    1. 30% are gay (which are the best fun to be around I have to say)
    2. 30% sleep around (so you wouldn't want them anyway.)
    3. 20% drink themselves into oblivion (Apply the 'beer goggles' theory.)
    4. 10% ARE GENUINE.

By my calculations reading this website forum, there are an awful lot of us out there look for those 10 in 100 that will be suitable.

From my experience in the Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing and Showing disciplines.
Is this the same in other countries?

Would love to hear from people with similar experiences or those who would love to prove me wrong.

    Cheers C.

    Quoting author:

Not recently at least, maybe it is a phase you grow out of.

On reflection, web sites as specialised as this would be a waste of time if all a man was looking for was gender, as it wouldnt matter if you shared any common interests with the woman at all.

On the contrary, the sort of women one would be likely to meet here are likey to be to busy, too poor ( horses are a bit expensive, arent they?), too assertive and too bloody far away to be targets of convienience.

So, in short, if you arent generally interested in horses and people who share an interest in them, you wouldnt waste your time looking on this site, so I reckon the class of bloke you meet here would be fairly high.

    Good luck!

    Just wanted to say...well said!!!

    Behavingaze said
"10% won't date horse women because they don't want to argure theory"
Brilliant!  I have heard this ridiculous excuse so many times from horsemen, horsewomen, gay and straight.  From what I can tell they are insecure or don't really have much "theory".

I am curious how you got to #5 :) I would think it would be a lower percentage than number 4..... much closer to zero

Well it has me stuffed. Cowboys, ringers, or call them what you want are no different than the rest of the male population. Does everybody think that men and women dont sleep around? arent gay, fat and or broke? The common thread that we have to play with is horses, and it would be nice to find some one, any one even who shares our passions, life and dreams but the reality check is that somteimes those who we like arent the ones we can carry on the dream with.
All we can do is get on with life as the alternitive is a lot worse.

From the other point of view.
I,m not surprised that 30% are gay they all wear tights lol.
Well if you mix in different horse cultures you will find that your figures all change.
    10% are gay
    40% sleep around
    40% drink too much
That leaves 10 % of which most are too old or too young.
But good luck anyway, yeah these figures are probably true for the girls too lol.

You're only 42. Lot's of time before retirement. If you are concerned about carrying a mortgage after retirement then do some serious scrimping and penny-pinching. Every month send in as much extra on the mortgage as you can. Just an extra $100 per month applied toward principle will go a long way toward paying off that mortgage early and saving you all that interest. The more sent in, the better. The same goes for credit cards. Always send in more than the minimum payment. Good Luck.

When you figure on the fact that I bought her out of a 75% paid for house and now will be carrying a mortgage for about 200k over what it was before I had to re-mortgage it at the new value - I guess you can say she cleaned out the bank account, the credit cards and whatever else financial I have. Boy, I sure never thought I'd be paying a mortgage after retirement.

Hey, did she clean out your bank accounts ($45,000) and run up your credit cards (over $30,000) before she left? My ex did. Maybe we can only hope they ran off together. On the other hand, getting rid of him is better than money anyhow. :)

Hey, packaging aside, what I'm really looking for is someone who keeps a promise and doesn't take off with some other guy after 8 years of marriage leaving you financially and emotionally screwed for the immediate future if not longer.

    Whatever happened to committment anyhow?

  • View author's info Posted on Oct 20, 2006 at 03:53 AM

    Glad you clarified that.
  • View author's info Posted on Oct 19, 2006 at 05:06 PM

Whoa... reading back I guess I didn't get my point out quite right. I'm not just looking for the "packaging" so to speak. If the wrapping is there but what's inside is a bubblegum-based lifeform then I'm not interested. For me it has to be a combination of both - "real rural" coupled with the packaging. I will be honest, however, I do find the "eye candy" very appealing in any form - real cowgirl or drugstore cowgirl. Heck I AM human afterall!

Having worked closely with people in the rodeo community as well as in agriculture, that attitude and lifestyle has to be part of it too. As I said, I have a tremendous amount of respect for people in these areas.

I'm not looking for someone who just dresses the part. That's what I mean by "real" cowgirl. And hey, if she wants to help out running the ranch (or acreage in my case) then all the better. After getting almost zero help from my ex wife, someone who takes an active interest in doing all the things that make the rural lifestyle as great as it is would be appreciated!

For the record, though, although I do like tight jeans on a cowgirl I honestly don't know how some can wear jeans so tight. Although it looks great in my opinion, that's gotta hurt!

  • View author's info Posted on Oct 19, 2006 at 02:58 AM

Oh, OK. I get it. To me, "cowgirl" is an occupation and unless you were a real "cowboy" (also an occupation) I couldn?t understand why you insisted on a cowgirl (i.e. someone to help run the ranch). (Sorry ladies, for the stereotypical comment about the sawdust bar and mason jars. I just wanted to see what he would say.) So, what you are really looking for is someone who dresses in a "cowgirl" outfit like you see in the movies. Btw, if a real cowgirl dressed in jeans that tight, she couldn?t even mount let alone spend all day in the saddle without some serious physical grief. Lol
